Gunfire Games’ virtual reality (VR) videogame Chronos is one of the bigger titles to be hitting the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) when it launches on 28th March. Chronos will be available to purchase for $49.99 USD, but prior to then the studio has revealed more screenshots to wet gamers appetites.

Four images have now surfaced, the first showing the male protagonist about to be attacked by some evil looking, pointy eared minions with flint looking blades. In the back a higher level priest/wizard type enemy to deal with after. The second shows a giant stone boss looking character, peering through a doorway at the player. This image does show off the excellent use of dramatic lighting in the videogame, giving a sense of dread and fear.

The next screenshot takes you outside, showing the grand design being employed. A bridge with dangerous looking statues either side leads to towering temple in front of the player, behind it even larger trees looming above creating a dense canopy.

The final image may look familiar to regular readers of VRFocus as it has appeared before. But there’re subtle changes with Gunfire Games adding more detail and polish since the previous version. The enemy in front now has brown dirt or moss patches on it, and it’s eye doesn’t shine as brightly as before revealing the scenery behind. The floor isn’t as busy with foliage and the main character seems to have a crisper look to him.

All this is likely because the studio recently revealed it has ‘Gone Gold’ on the title, meaning its fully done and ready to ship. VRFocus will continue its coverage of Gunfire Games’ VR projects, reporting back any new updates.
