Yesterday the US PlayStation Blog released an interview with a Producer at Criterion Games concerning Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission, and he details some of the features that have been teased but not explained, as well as the team’s perspective on developing for virtual reality (VR).

James Svensson, Producer at Criterion, who has worked heavily on the title, gave some more info on both the demo and what players can expect. When asked about how the Star Destroyer comes into the gameplay, Svensson said: “The player will have to keep their wits about them, with intense battle ensuing from every direction, to keep them and their wingmen alive as they complete a critical mission for the Rebellion.”

If some of you are wondering how this title integrated into the current Star Wars Battlefront setting, it is said that Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission is an extention of the base game, described as a truly authentic Star Wars videogame. Svensson also said that Criterion saw VR as a perfect opportunity to create a vehicular action game in VR to give people a new way to connect with Star Wars, and believes that VR is “part of an amazin, sci-fi future we’ve been promised for so long”.

Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission will be available for free to all Star Wars Battlefront owners.
