Gear VR, Oculus VR and Samsung’s mobile-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), has seen plenty of new content over the past few weeks. That’s thanks to the launch of the long-awaited consumer version of the device in the US for just $99 USD. But the releases for the device aren’t slowing down just yet; indie team OZWE Games has today launched Anshar Wars 2, the sequel to its original VR space shooter that launched on the Innovator Edition of the Gear VR earlier on in the year.

Anshar Wars 2 is a sci-fi experience is described by its developer as an ‘action arcade’ videogame. Players control a space ship using the Gear VR’s head-tracking technology in a fictional universe in which the Ansharian Empire fights against an enemy known as the Nergal. Players will take on the role of a newly enlisted pilot and fight back against Nergal ships using a range of weapons including missles, lasers, tesla blasts and portal generators.

According to OZWE Games fans can expect from Anshar Wars 2 to feature. Also new to the sequel are planetary landscapes that players can fly over along with the usual space environments.
