Virtual reality (VR) tour site YouVisit has created a multitude for different experiences that can be viewed via its website and smartphone app. Its latest project has been a collaboration with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia during October and November. The partnership has resulted in two VR experiences, the first is a 360 degree video Mirror to the Soul and the other a look-book where viewers can see some of the designs.
In Mirror to the Soul the film (shown below) follows the different perspectives of those taking part in the fashion week. The video begins with Elina Halimi, Fashion Director – Kabuki Paris talking about her start in the industry before moving onto Anastasia Surgutko, a 20 year old runway model. The video then features behind the scenes footage, then continues on with commentary from Jae Suk Kim a fashion illustrator from Soeal, South Korea, then Yasya Minochkina a fashion designer.
The 360 degree VR video can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app for the 360 degree experience. If you own a Google Cardboard or similar head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video through the YouTube app for a more immersive experience.
The second experience can be found on YouVisit’s website and allows users to choose between several Russian designers. Models can then be highlighted then clicked on to bring up an image of them on the catwalk.
VRFocus will continue to follow YouVisit’s latest VR projects closely, reporting back any further announcements.
