Another virtual reality (VR) conference and expo is underway today. Back for its second year, VRTGO is taking place in Newcastle, UK, and sees a number of VR figureheads gather to talk about the latest with the technology. Up not is ‘Crossrail’s VR Journey’ with Marie Gilmour. VRFocus is liveblogging the talk below.
“Crossrails’s Innovation programme, Innovate18, is the focal point for a range of exciting initiatives, exploring the use of Augmented and Virtual Reality in a construction environment,” the event’s official description reads. “Marie will provide some context for the Innovation programme, will explain how Crossrail’s approach to BIM modelling provides a platform for AR/VR development, and will tell some of the stories being developed across the project using techniques traditionally associated with gaming software. Marie hopes to inspire further innovation from the community which can help promote smart construction.”
