A new virtual reality (VR) meetup has been announced, in what could be the first for Norway. Being held in Stavanger, the event has been organised by VR enthusiast Kay Tomas Bertheussen and will take place on Wednesday 2nd December 2015.

The evening meetup will feature talks, demos and the chance to discuss all aspects of the VR industry and its future. The first hour or so will consist of fast paced talks only lasting around 10 minutes each.

Currently Bertheussen will open the evening, talking on VR’s past, present and future. Others speakers include Christian Stigen Larsen, Roxar – Scripting for Oculus: What we know and what to expect and Frode Søreide, Mediafarm – Learning in Virtual Environments. Also due to hold a talk, but still to be confirmed is Kjetil Ravnås, Doublethink, Tore Kvam, Visco and Trond Nyman Aarre, Hey-Ho, Let’s Go.

Demos for the meetup currently include the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD) with Crane simulator, Scale in VR vs 3d, by Mario Basiola, Marbas Studio. And Samsung’s Gear VR headset will also feature with a few demos from Oculus Home.

The Stavanger VR Meetup will start at 7pm, at Mess & Order, Ryfylkegaten 22, Stavanger, Norway and is free to attend. Those wishing to go are advised to RSVP on the groups page.
