Way back in late 2014 Offpeak Games launched a Steam Greenlight Campaign for its multiplayer virtual reality (VR) combat title Valiant. The videogame was successfully Greenlit in January 2015, then in December the studio launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign which was ultimately unsuccessful. Now Valiant has appeared under a Steam Early Access listing.

The title, which supports both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMDs) hasn’t yet received a release date, simply being listed as ‘coming soon’.

Valiant is a medieval horse combat title were players ride around on their steeds dispatching other players. Playing from a first-person perspective gamers have a selection of lances, bows, swords and more to try and take down opponents. Rather than one-on-one matches are team-based with five against five. The title features positional VoIP chat to discuss tactics with teammates or heckle your opponents.

Once launched the team plans to be in Early Access for 3 – 6 months, saying: “We’re launching as an Early Access title because we really want your input and guidance, in particular on new maps, game modes, classes and updated progression mechanics (beyond the public leaderboards, stats, and player ranks we already have ingame).”

When Valiant does become available VRFocus will bring you the latest details.
