Until Dawn: Rush of Blood Dev Expands VR Team with New Hires

    Supermassive Games the British developer behind virtual reality (VR) videogame Until Dawn: Rush of Blood has announced the strengthening of its VR team. The BAFTA-winning studio revealed today that three new senior hires have taken place.

    New to the Guildford-based team are Steve Brown as Audio Director, Gary Napper as Game Director and Ian Palmer as Art Director.

    Brown joins Supermassive Games from Lionhead where he worked on Fable Journey and Fable Legends. Before Lionhead he was at Brighton’s Zoe Mode working on Haunt, Guitar Hero 4 & 5 and more.

    Napper has 16 years of experience in the industry having worked for developers such as EA UK, Bright Light, Criterion, Creative Assembly and Sony. He was Design Director on Alien Isolation and has most recently been working on VR projects with Sony. While Palmer’s background includes studios like EA UK, Criterion and Codemasters, working on title such Burnout, Need for Speed, F1 and Harry Potter.

They bring a combined 44 years of development experience across a wide range of disciplines and have worked on some of the biggest games in the business. These hires signify our ambition to be a leading UK studio producing powerful VR and storytelling experiences.”

    The studio hasn’t revealed what projects the three of them will be working on, whether its the current Until Dawn: Rush of Blood or Tumble VR for PlayStation VR, or an as yet unannounced project.
