A new edition of the Unreal Engine 4.12 preview builds, Preview 3, is available to download now. This latest issue is not the final release of Unreal Engine 4.12, and therefore is not advised for use with sensitive projects. However, those who want to dive in early are given the opportunity to aid with feedback on the preview version.

This latest preview version of Unreal Engine 4.12 features more than 60 new bug fixes, many of which are beneficial to development on a number of different platforms. A fix to ensure that screenshots are captured in high resolution, fixes for stable auto saving and various crash bugs have been added, but for virtual reality (VR) developers there’s one important addition.

Operating under the code ‘UE-30404’, this fix is designed to integrate engine changes in support of AndroidVR plugin to 4.12, for day-and-date release. This suggests that the next update for the AndroidVR plugin will be fully compatible with Unreal Engine 4.12 upon release.

More details of the latest preview can be found on the official Unreal Engine 4 forum, and the preview can be downloaded via the Unreal Engine 4 launcher now. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest additions to Unreal Engine 4 relative to VR development.
