Arriving next week from developer Techland’s subsidiary ShortBreak Studios will be virtual reality (VR) space combat videogame The Collider 2 for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMDs). Today the studio has released a new trailer for the title which features a mash up between drone racing and gameplay footage.

Over the course of its development the team at ShortBreak Studios tried their hand at drone racing, so they could recreate the experience in VR. With this latest trailer the developer gives you a look behind their thought process with some real-life drone racing.

The Collider 2 is all about flying a space ship through tight corridors and past obstacles at break neck speeds. Your mission is to destroy an alien mothership looming over the planet by destroying it from the inside.

Due for release on Tuesday 19th April via Steam, The Collider 2 will retail for $9.99/£6.99. VRFocus will be bringing you an exclusive interview tomorrow from the team, and will continue to report the latest news on The Collider 2 as further updates are announced.
