One of the best displays of the creativity that’s possible with virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMDs) to come along in recent years is Tilt Brush, a 3D canvas of sorts from Google that lets users take the HTC Vive’s position-tracked controllers and essentially mix painting and sculpting together by creating 3D brush strokes. The software has been seen time and again at events throughout the past few years as it’s an excellent way to introduce people to the tech. As for its actual release, then, it appears Tilt Brush has a launch window.

A newly-posted Steam listing for the anticipated title has Tilt Brush arriving in April 2016. This is hardly surprise as the HTC Vive itself is set to makes its first shipments on 1st April, making this a launch window release if not an actual launch day release. The price for the software hasn’t yet been revealed but the listing does include a new description which reads: “Tilt Brush lets you paint in 3D space with virtual reality. Unleash your creativity with three-dimensional brush strokes, stars, light, and even fire. Your room is your canvas. Your palette is your imagination. The possibilities are endless.”

The specs for the experience have also been revealed, with both the minimum and recommended requirements proving to be the same. They are:

OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or later, Windows 10

Processor: CPU: Intel i5-4590, AMD FX 8350 equivalent or better

Memory: 4 GB RAM

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970, AMD Radeon R9 290 equivalent or better

Storage: 1 GB available space

Sound Card: N/A

In case you hasn’t noticed, yes, these are identical to the HTC Vive’s own recommended specs. There’s no word yet on if the experience could one day come to the Oculus Rift, though that HMD already has a competitor in Oculus Medium. For the latest on Tilt Brush, keep reading VRFocus.
