In this video I’m going to properly break down how to colour grade Insta360 X5 footage.

If you’ve seen my other video on fixing flat footage, that covers the basics. This one goes deeper, this is the full workflow I actually use to get from that flat, straight out-of camera look to something a lot more cinematic and usable.

If you want to go further, I’ve got a full course on how to shoot and edit with Insta360 cameras, including more on colour grading, settings, and getting the best possible quality out of your footage:

I’ll run through how I approach colour correction, what settings actually matter, and how far you can push the X5 footage before it starts to fall apart. This isn’t about throwing on a LUT and hoping for the best — it’s about understanding what you’re doing so you can get consistent results every time.

Chapters:

0:00 – Intro
0:50 – In Camera Settings
1:51 – Mobile Colour Grading
6:44 – Desktop Colour Editing (Insta360 Studio)
10:47 – Desktop Colour Editing (Capcut)

Whether you’re editing in the Insta360 app or bringing your footage into something like Premiere Pro, the principles are exactly the same.
