The most important skill for VR professionals

The most important skill for VR professionals is follow up, according to Alex Ruhl, a successful VR creator with her own studio.  Find out why from this podcast episode:

In my experience, I have found Alex’s advice to be true.  And it is indeed a skill.  To be able to follow up with dozens or hundreds of leads requires not only the ability to multitask and to be organized but it also takes persuasiveness, persistence, diligence, and a certain amount of gumption.   This skill will have a direct impact on your bottom line.

One of the best podcasts you’ll ever listen to

Alex Rühl (The Drum’s 50 under 30 women in digital, Women of the Future Awards, Pioneers of Immersive Realities Award) is a virtual reality director/writer, international & TEDx speaker and founder of immersive storytelling studio CATS are not PEAS.

I met Alex a couple of years ago while she was in town for VRLA, if I recall correctly.  I was impressed not only by her experience as a creator but also by her business acumen.  Talking to her is like talking to a marketing professor at university whose advice has actually been battle-tested.  Don’t take my word for it – even if you just peruse her podcast, you’ll immediately see how valuable it is.   If you are even slightly interested in shooting 360 for income, whether full-time or part-time, you owe it to yourself to subscribe to her podcast.
