With the Oculus Rift releasing last week and the HTC Vive due tomorrow, plenty of virtual reality (VR) videogames are releasing for these head-mounted displays (HMDs) over the next few weeks, meaning fewer are actually being announced. Bucking that trend, however, is Techland and its subsidiary development team, ShortBreak Studios. Today, the pair have announced a brand new VR videogame coming to both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in The Collider 2. A short teaser for the title can now be seen below.

The Collider 2 is a space combat title and sequel to the 2014 original, albeit looking very different to it. Developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4, the title puts players in control of a ship which they will have to steer at high speeds, relying of quick reflexes to dodge obstacles as they undertake a mission to destroy a new band of alien invaders by journeying into the depths of an enemy command ship to take it out. VR support has been designed from the ground up for the title to ensure the best experience.

ShortBreak Studios will launch The Collider 2 on Steam on 19th April 2016, though it’s not clear when it will get an Oculus Home release. The title includes six different star fighters that can be customised and upgraded as well as 54 missions and an endless mode.
