Good news for virtual reality (VR) fans in London (or VR fans with a desire to visit London) as SubPac, creators of the VR compatible wearable bass system the M2, has announced it will be hosting a night of audio-led VR experiences in the city.

The VR experiences at the event will be audio-led and accompanied by SubPac’s own technology like the M2 jacket and the S2 immersive chair. By making the experiences audio-led and adding their own wearable VR accessories, SubPac says the event will effectively explore the physical dimension of the VR experience, “showcasing how audio can be used to deepen immersion and complete the experience of using Virtual Reality.”

The event is taking place on June 23rd, during the London Tech Week and the line up of experiences has already been announced. The experiences at the event will include a 360-degree music video from Liverpool based VR studio Draw&Code for HTC Vive; a new 360-degree film project from London-based VR studio Marshmallow Laser Feast for Oculus called In the Eyes of the Animal, which enables audiences to encounter England’s forests anew through an immersive virtual reality experience, told by the inhabitants of the forest; the Run The Jewels VR music video for the group’s track ‘Crown’ from Mass Appeal; and a demo of a new iOS music app called NOiZ from Studio Amplify. Later in the night there will also be a silent disco.

For anyone interested in attending the event, SubPac has launched an EventBrite page where you can register for free tickets. The event itself will take place on Thursday June 23rd at 6.30 pm at the Blueberry Bar on St Paul’s Street in London.

VRFocus will keep up with news from the event, and report back with more details as they’re revealed.
