It is well acknowledged that there are a fair few virtual reality (VR) events around the world that attract an incredible amount of attention in the way of educating the public and being a space for industry professionals to network and grow as a community. The NYC Television & Video Week organisers have created a new VR board to open up the event to how the industries are being influenced by VR.

The event, Virtual Reality 20/20, will be a platform for people to network with creators and potential funders, as well as to attend panels with industry figures. As well as this, just as with any VR event, there will be showcasings of hardware and VR demonstrations.

These speakers were chosen due to their expertise and decision-making in finding and creating effective VR changes. The line up includes: Michael Yang, Managing Director at Comcast Ventures, who leads increstments in VR and has made investments in AltspaceVR, Baobab Studios, NextVR, and SPACES; Hardie Tanersley, CEO of Avriss VR, who developed the Emmy-winning VR experience for Sleepy Hollow and is creating studios for VR; Neil Carty, SVP Innovation Strategy at Medialink; Evan Kaut, Managing Director at Grey AdVentures; Ajun Mentre, Investment Director at Intel Capital; and Cary Tils, chief Innovation Officer for WPP/GroupM.

“I could not be more excited to announce the advisory board for the inaugural Virtual Reality 20/20,” said Louis Hillelson, Vice President and Group Publisher at Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News. “These are true industry leaders.  Together, we’re going to organize an exceptional program detailing opportunities and innovations in the VR/AR space.”

There are still early bird tickets on sale which are available until 12th September – or until they sell out – and they are currently listed as free on the website. It will take place in New York city in the TimesCenter in Time Square on 17th October.
