For those of you who have been playing No Man’s Sky – or at least have been hearing about it because, let’s face it, who can escape the talk – it may seem like a bit of a bummer that it hasn’t made its way over to virtual reality (VR). With Escapist Games’s Star Chart, you can instead explore the universe for what it is in full scale.

Some of Star Chart‘s features include an accurate real-time simulation of the stars and planets as you see them from Earth, 3D solar system exploration, a Sky View mode which lets you view the night sky from your GPS location, and 88 constellations to enjoy.

As described by the developers themselves, “Delight in exploring the solar system, from the Sun to the smallest moons of Saturn and out to the coldest, darkest, farthest reaches of Pluto. Gaze down and marvel at our solar system from above. Look up in wonder at the rings of Saturn. Feel the awe of floating in space around worlds no human has yet set foot on. Understand how the constellations of our night sky are made up of stars distant to each other in both space and time. Embrace the impossible distances of our solar system and the inordinate scale of our universe.”

This title has just appeared on Steam, although the release date is yet to be announced. It will be available for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMD). Star Chart is already out on the Oculus Home Store for £3.99 (GBP).
