Announced last month for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift head-mounted displays (HMDs) was indie developer Lucid Sight’s third virtual reality (VR) title Space Bit Attack. The videogame arrived on Steam on 5th April, and now it has also appeared on the Oculus Rift’s own store Oculus Home in the Early Access section.

Designed specifically for VR headsets Space Bit Attack is a new take on classic retro arcade shooters where players control a gunner pilot who must dodge and blast their way through hordes of alien enemies. The gameplay is built around endless survival with infinite waves of enemies to destroy, unlocking new abilities as you go to aid you in battle.

As downloading titles from Steam to work on Oculus Rift isn’t as easy as purchasing straight from Oculus Home, Lucid Sight has now made it easier for those who’ve managed to receive their devices to enjoy the videogame.

Previously the developer has released two titles for the Samsung Gear VR mobile-based HMD in PolyRunner VR and Gumi no Yume. PolyRunner VR can also be found on Steam.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Lucid Sight’s VR projects reporting back with an new updates.
