Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) as just finished holding a media briefing at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, California. With the launch of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive now imminent, SCE has decided to divulge more details regarding the PlayStation VR virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). In terms of content, the company has provided an update on how many studios are working to kit.

Andrew House, CEO of SCE, has announced that there are now over 230 developers working on PSVR. He said “For PlayStation VR games especially, the developer community has benefited from getting hands-on impressions from gamers”. At last year’s Paris Games Week (PGW) event in France the company confirmed that over 200 developers were working on the device, so there’s been a small bump over the past few months.

SCE will be exhibiting a number of VR games at the GDC over the next few days.The PlayStation VR is due to launch in October this year and will retail at $399 USD/£349 GBP.
