Siegecraft Commander, the upcoming tower defence title from Blowfish Studios, has today been confirmed for launch on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Launching in Q3 2016, the same quarter as the previously-announced Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC releases, Siegecraft Commander challenges players to weave a network of structures toward an enemy base while fortifying their own defences.

Siegecraft Commander offers the players but one objective: destroying the enemy Keep. In order to do so, players must strategically build a web of towers branching from their own Keep to protect their key base while working through enemy forces to destroy their opponent’s. Most towers have the capability of creating other buildings from it, and once the new structure is deployed a wall connecting the two towers is raised. If the parent building is destroyed, so too are any towers it helped create.

Players select between tactical turn-based or real-time strategy (RTS) gameplay before each player versus player (PvP) match, while single-player focuses on real-time play only. The virtual reality (VR) edition of the videogame will allow players to use a free-roaming camera system in addition to featuring a menu and user interface designed specifically for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Siegecraft Commander will support the HTC Vive’s motion-controllers and the Xbox One gamepad on Oculus Rift.

“The realistic birds-eye view that HTC Vive and Oculus Rift provide of Siegecraft Commander is a perfect fit for real-time strategy,” said Benjamin Lee, CEO of Blowfish Studios. “Looking across the map while crafting powerful structures and toppling enemy defenses makes you truly feel like a grand strategist mobilizing an unstoppable force.
