Last month VRFocus reported on the launch of a new trailer for #SelfieTennis from VRUnicorns, which is on its way to the HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). The brief clip showcased the concept for the title, though didn’t reveal any gameplay. This week, however, a new Steam page for the title has been set up, revealing a brand new look at gameplay as well as the title’s release date. That gameplay footage can now be seen below.

The Steam page confirms that #SelfieTennis will be launching on 1st April 2016, making it available just before the arrival of the HTC Vive itself, which starts to ship on 5th April. The title uses the kit’s position-tracked controllers to allow players to face off against themselves in tennis matches, switching to the other side of the court every time they return the ball.

Though just 14 seconds in length, this clip reveals a never before seen feature for #SelfieTennis. Namely, it shows a crowd of characters that have giant tennis balls for heads. These surreal figures aren’t just watching the game, however, but instead appear on-court, with the player able to bat them away using their tennis racket. At one point one of the creatures is even unfortunate enough to swallow a tennis ball down themselves.

Check back with VRFocus for the latest on #SelfieTennis.
