There are no shortage of sci-fi experiences making their way to virtual reality (VR) systems. Titles like EVE: Valkyrie and Elite: Dangerous are bringing player’s dreams to life by allowing them to hop into space ships and explore distant galaxies and alien planets. But for UK-based developer Lupus Solus, none of these projects are going far enough. This one-man studio longed for an experience that would grant players a full galaxy to play with, allowing players to touch down on planets and explore enemy ships. To that end, the developer is bringing Push For Emor to the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).

The developer describes this project as a sci-fi first-person shooter (FPS) role-playing game (RPG) that mixes in elements of real-time strategy (RTS) titles. Set in the far flung future, players are cast as an undercover agent that joins a faction of resistance fighters attempting to prevent the expansion of the Emorian Empire into Justicar federal space. The player’s journey will consist of 11 missions in which they’ll explore a range of planets and the space surrounding them. Combat will take place both on the ground and in ships, with players able to board defeated vessels.

A demo for Push For Emor is already available and the full release is expected at some point in Q1 2016. A trailer for the title can also be seen below. For the latest on the title and all other VR compatible projects, keep reading VRFocus.
