Samsung had big news to share last week as the electronics giant finally announced the next edition in its flagship line of smartphones in the Galaxy S7 and its curved companion, the Galaxy S7 edge. Gear VR, the company’s virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), played a big part of the reveal, as those at the press conference in Barcelona, Spain pulled the kit over their eyes to get their first glimpse of the handsets. The Galaxy S7 represents a step forward for VR, and Samsung’s made sure to make note of that in this new video below.

The short video recaps some of the new features of the company’s upcoming phone, including an expandable memory system via microSD cards, before branding the kit as a ‘virtual reality machine’ and showing it inserted into the Gear VR system. In fact, Samsung is so adamant to push VR with its new device that it’s even giving the Gear VR away with new pre-orders of the phone at select retailers.
