Riscali, the virtual reality (VR) lab division of World War Toons developer Reload Studios has revealed two new trailers for the studio’s first episodic VR projects. Called Raven and The Storybox Project, the videos can be viewed across a wide range of content sharing platforms, including YouTube; Facebook/Oculus Video; Jaunt; Littlstar; Vrideo and Samsung MilkVR.

Produced in partnership with Chinese media giant Youku Tudou, Raven and The Storybox Project originally premiered at the Youku VR platform launch on 11th May, 2016. Raven is a sci-fi adventure series where the Earth is now toxic. The human race must gather as many resources together to build Project Raven, an ambitious space project to find a new planet.

While The Storybox Project takes viewers of all ages into a theatre environment where they can be immersed in their favourite bedtime stories and fairy tales.

“When we launched our new Youku VR platform, we wanted to have examples of compelling content that showcase the potential for episodic programming in virtual reality. We turned to Rascali because we knew that they had the experience to bring Hollywood calibre production quality and story telling to VR projects,” said Ryan Cheung, Vice President of Finance of Youku Tudou

“Aligning with an online video leader like Youku Tudou brings us closer to our vision of becoming a premium content studio in the global VR marketplace,” said head of Rascali, Phillip Moses. “These trailers are just the tip of the iceberg, and we look forward to expanded partnerships with additional production/distribution partners to further develop this next generation of episodic programming.”

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Rascali, reporting back with any further announcements.
