This week has been a milestone in the development of Rebellion’s arcade tanker reboot title, Battlezone, with the reveal of the brand new campaign demo now being showcased as well as the announcement of PlayStation VR’s price and release date, much anticipated by the developers as Battlezone is to first be released along with the launch of the head-mounted display (HMD).

VRFocus spoke to the Lead Game Designer for Battlezone at Rebellion, Steven Bristow, who talks about the steps the Battlezone team took to further develop the title, including: the mechanics of motion within the videogame and how motion sickness is avoided, the evolved aesthetics of gameplay information using the cockpit, and the deeper value of doing the original developers’ visions justice.
