With the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2016 beginning today in San Francisco, VRFocus has been live blogging some of the conferences and sessions on virtual reality (VR). Assassins Creed developer Ubisoft is at the week long event holding several talks on designing, lighting and many other aspects of videogame design. The studio is also one of the largest working on VR with its previously announced Eagle Flight, but could it be working on something else?

With VRFocus on the ground at GDC 2016 there’s been news that Ubisoft maybe announcing a new VR videogame at its press conference. No details are available at present on the projects title, platform support or genre of videogame the studio might be planning.

Apart from Eagle Flight where players control a bird of prey flying above the city of Paris, taking part in single player or multiplayer missions, Ubisoft also created a VR trailer for the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: Jack The Ripper DLC. While the international studio could be creating a fresh title its also very possible it might want to capitalise on the VR buzz at GDC 2016 by announcing a VR version of one of it’s popular IP’s already in existence.
