Last month VRFocus reported on the news that Cherry Pop Games would be releasing a virtual reality (VR) version of its popular Pool Nation videogame, simply titled Pool Nation VR. At the time of announcement it was confirmed the project would be coming to the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) with full support for its Room-Scale user-tracking, though it wasn’t confirmed when it would release. That’s changed today, however, as Cherry Pop Games has announced the final release date for Pool Nation VR.

The title will be releasing on 28th April 2016 for $19.99 USD. Pool Nation VR is the result of a collaboration with Perilous Orbit. Set within a bar that can be fully explored, it allows users to play realistic games of pool or snooker with the HMD’s position-tracked controllers as well as play virtual darts and more. The experience presents a free environment where players can destroy beer bottles and generally just mess around without any consequences.

There’s currently no word on if Pool Nation VR could come to other VR HMDs such as the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR later down the line, but a HMD is required to play.
