Unlike many of the virtual reality (VR) titles heading to the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMDs), a good number of the videogames planned for the upcoming PlayStation VR HMD will be sold physically as well as digitally. Among these is one of the kit’s biggest titles: RIGS: Mechanized Combat League from Killzone: Mercenary developer, Guerrilla Cambridge. It’s currently not clear when this multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) will release, but its official box art has been spotted, and can now be seen below.

The box features on of RIGS: Mechanized Combat League‘s titular mechs, which players will commandeer in arena-based multiplayer battles. The DualShock 4 controller is used in game modes that will see players gaining overdrive modes to jump through hoops and score goals and more. It’s interesting to note that the box art doesn’t get feature any PlayStation 4 exclusive branding nor a mention of PlayStation VR support, though expect the actual box to include these.

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League was first announced at E3 2015 during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE’s) press conference. Could the title’s relatively early announcement and the arrival of box art suggest that this may be one of PlayStation VR’s launch titles? If so that would mean the experience will launch alongside the kit at some point during October 2016.
