The road to PlayStation VR’s October 2016 launch has begun. Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) confirmed that its virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) for PlayStation 4 would be releasing later this year at an event during the 2016 Game Developers Conference (GDC) last week. The company has seven months, then, to get the device into the hands of as many people as possible and convince them to pick one up. One such opportunity is right around the corner in next month’s EGX Rezzed.

It’s today been confirmed that PlayStation VR will be at the event in London from 7th – 9th April 2016. A list of experiences to be shown on the device hasn’t been revealed but it has been confirmed that many of them will be making their UK debut. It’s quite possible, then, that this includes some recently announced titles such as PlayStation VR Worlds, the compilation of demos and experiences from SCE London Studio, which was revealed alongside PlayStation VR’s date and price last week.

Visitors are advised to pre-book for the chance to sample PlayStation VR. The booking system hasn’t gone live yet but you can follow PlayStationUK or sign up at an official website to be notified of when it does.

PlayStation VR will cost £349 GBP in the UK. Pre-orders for the device went live on the day of the GDC event. Stay tuned to VRFocus for more on the device.
