It was in January this year that VRFocus first heard about Aldin Dynamics virtual reality (VR) project Waltz of the Wizard. The developer teased a new title would be revealed in an interview with VRFocus in December 2015 but wouldn’t divulge further details at the time. Today the company has now revealed a launch trailer for the HTC Vive version as well as a launch date on Steam.

As the developer describes it: “Waltz of the Wizard is a uniquely designed virtual reality experience that allows you to feel what it’s like to have magical powers. Combine arcane ingredients into a boiling cauldron, with the help of an ancient spirit trapped in a human skull, discovering spells and unleashing wizardry upon a world where everything is interactive. Visit new surroundings and find yourself in mysterious circumstances in an experience inspired by the atmosphere of films such as Fantasia and Harry Potter.”

The HTC Vive version will launch for free next Tuesday, 31st May, and a PlayStation VR version has also been confirmed, although no dates have been confirmed. In terms of support for Oculus Rift, the developer has previously stated that it does have a pair of Oculus Touch controllers and that “we’re looking into it.”

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Waltz of the Wizard, reporting back with any further updates.
