With the rise of new technologies and video game consoles it could be easy to forget and leave behind older means of gaming, including physical arcade machines, however with virtual reality (VR) these retro ways of playing games can be renewed and replicated, deeming them relevant once again. Pinball FX2 VR has been announced for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), creating an immersive classic pinball experience that can rarely be found in this decade.

The pinball simulator, using advanced physics, 3D graphics, and social interaction, brings back the old school atmosphere of playing pinball but with the modern twist of VR. Features of the video game include three tables – Mars, Secrets of the Deep, and Epic Quest – which uses all the classic visuals and lighting of an original table, a Pro Score and Team Score leaderboard, table statistics, achievements, and the ability to explore a beachside mansion that is the location of the tables.

If you missed the Humble Weekly Bundle that featured Zen Studios’ pinball VR video game, Pinball FX2 VR will be available on Oculus Share for the Oculus Rift HMD from the 28th March.
