Cast your minds back to the days when you would come across those 4D rollercoaster simulations in the backs of arcades and trying to scrape together enough coins to enjoy the experience. Now, after seeking support on Steam Greenlight only last month, Ancient VR Coaster is coming soon to both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMD).

Ancient VR Coaster is a title that concentrates on bringing a personal rollercoaster ride to the VR HMD owners without the worries of paying out for each ride, or even lining up being surrounded by screaming children. In the developers’ own words, which hasn’t changed too much since its Greenlight campaign: “Feel the thrills of the heights, speeds in this wonderful experience exclusive for VR headsets on steam!”

As the title implies, Ancient VR Coaster isn’t set in the present day, but instead takes on the Incan Empire aesthetic, giving it another layer of interest to discover a new surrounding as you zoom past fire and dip through caves.

When on its Greenlight campaign, Ancient VR Coaster was said to be in its final stages of completion and that if the title passed its campaign then it would be almost completely ready to go, and so this explains the immediate nature of the title appearing on the storefront rather than lingering in Steam Greenlight.

The title is only in a state of coming soon, and so the full price will be revealed at a later date that has not yet been outlined. Both keyboard and mouse, as well as tracked motion controllers, can be used in this VR exclusive experience.
