The latest edition of Razer’s Hacker Development Kit (HDK), labelled v1.4, is now available for purchase. This new edition includes a diffusion film technology for reduced ‘screen door’ effect, which will also be available for v1.3 upgrades next month.

In addition to the new diffusion film, the HDK v1.4 includes extra padding for cheekbones and rubber nose inserts for the nose bridge for added comfort. The HDK v1.4 is available to purchase now priced at $299 USD.

Furthermore a brand new edition of the HDK has been announced, incorporating Leap Motion’s hand-tracking technology as standard. A new faceplate has been designed to include the device and will be available as a special HDK bundle launching next month, priced at $349 USD. A standalone faceplate for upgrading existing HDK models will be priced at $74.99 USD.

The HDK is aimed at a development audience with no official consumer release yet announced, but VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details the HMD.
