With the growing implications of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) benefitting workplaces and businesses, Oregon Story Board (OSB) is embracing the new technology and is funding the expansion of its training sessions, now offering short training courses for the Microsoft HoloLens.

OSB specialises in digital storytelling, and with the addition of the HoloLens the company, as well as Portland itself, strives to be recognised as a hub for digital and VR production. The training courses, designed for professionals and students alike, will be either one day overview or four day bootcamp, offered in its custom-designed computer lab and is taught by industry experts at the forefront of developing holographic applications.

“We see extraordinary economic potential in AR and VR development,” says Tawny Schlieski, Chairman of Oregon Story Board, and Client Computing Research Director at Intel Corp.“and we at Oregon Story Board are committed to empowering the next generation of artists and entrepreneurs to explore this exciting new technology.”

Students can currently pre-register now for classes that will begin later this spring at OSB’s computer lab in downtown Portland, Oregon.
