In the run up to Oculus VR’s consumer launch of the Oculus Rift in Q1 2016, the company has been regularly updating its software development kit (SDK). The current PC SDK is at 0.8, released in October, while the Audio SDK 1.0 Beta was made available in November. Now Oculus VR has launched Audio SDK 1.0.1, adding new features for developers working on titles.

The update doesn’t include a great deal but on the official download page the company states: “This constitutes the first full release of the Oculus Audio SDK.” This indicates that for the audio side at least the SDK is now out of Beta, and one of the small preparations needed before launch.

There’s been no further details on the PC SDK, the 0.9 version was expected last month as 1.0 had been targeted for December. This looks to have shifted to next year, but Oculus VR has yet to make any official announcements.
