VRFocus reported yesterday that the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) next event would feature a showcase of virtual reality (VR) content from the Kaleidoscope Film Festival which toured the US in 2015. It doesn’t stop there as the 2016 NAB Show will also be hosting a ‘Virtual & Augmented Reality Pavilion’ for the six day event.

The pavilion will feature a range of companies from across the VR and augmented reality (AR) spectrum. It will showcase how this new technology will impact all aspects of filmmaking, storytelling, cameras, lighting, sound, production, special effects (VFX), editing, distribution, coding and consumption.

The 2016 NAB Show will also include sessions and conferences to compliment the pavilion. A Super Session will be held on Tuesday 19th, focused on ‘Being There — Virtual Reality News and Documentaries.’ Top non-fiction content creators, technologists and network strategists will explore how VR is changing news and documentary storytelling.

Conferences include: Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality Summit; Creative Master Series, Virtual Reality — New Medium, New Storytelling Language; and Future of Cinema Conference, Building Worlds — Cinematic Storytelling in VR and AR.

The 2016 NAB Show will be taking place on 16th – 21st April, at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. With exhibits running on 18th – 21st April. To register and find further information go to nabshow.com.
