Virtual reality (VR) developers across the globe are doing a lot of experimentation with the medium, looking at the immersive properties it affords. Swedish studio DNV has created a psychedelic experience called Dimensional Intersection, which publisher Nicalis has now announced today.

Dimensional Intersection is a VR music visualiser that combines vivid scenes, filled with bright neon rich colours that move and flow, appear then fade away in time with the music. DNV has worked with music artists such as Soulacybin, Land Switcher and MONS, to blend their sounds with its transformative visuals.

“Dimensional Intersection is a crazy experience that distills music into the purest form,” said Tyrone Rodriguez, Founder of Nicalis. “It’s being developed in a place very close to the origin of psytrance and that influence is evident in the game.”

Due for release later year in Q3, Dimensional Intersection will support the Oculus Rift and Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE’s) PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD).

VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of Dimensional Intersection, reporting back any further updates.
