It was two months ago now that the creators of GDC decided to create a VR centric event, the Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC), which will be held in San Francisco in November. Since then, speakers and sessions have been added to the list, and recently there were five more sessions added to be enticed by if you were thinking of going.

The latest sessions added to the list include: Olivia Palmieri from Ubisoft to talk about the research and developmentt behind Eagle Flight. “Olivier will describe this research (e.g. effects of motion in peripheral vision), and solutions they found (e.g. dynamic peripheral vision blinders).”

Creating Mixed Reality Trailers and Livestreams with Northway Games’s Colin Northway, and Kert Gartner from his website. Attendees are welcome to come and learn how they created the mixed reality livestreams and trailers for Fantastic Contraption, and how post-production problems were solved.

Creaters of Lucky’s Tale talk about the tools and techniques for VR prototyping in A Playful Approach to Prototyping for Virtual Reality.

There will be a session on Data and Insights in the VR Market with EEDAR’s Patrick Walker, who will look at the ups and downs as well as rights and wrongs, along with the opinions and behaviors of those who have adopted VR and are still yet to.

And finally, there will be The Reality of Developing HoloLens Games, which takes a different turn from the previously mentioned sessions. FLARB’s Ralph Barbagallo will detail expectations for HoloLens’ capabilities for games, as well as how to work around platform limitations.

Currently there are still Early passes up for grabs for $999 (USD) until 7th September, which is a couple hundred less than the regular tickets which are $1,199. If you don’t get to those regular tickets by 1st November, they will also be available onsite when you arrive – if there are any left – but will be $1,399. The event itself will take place from 2nd to 3rd November.
