Work on SUPERHOT, the highly anticipated crowd-funded first-person shooter (FPS) is almost done, according to the title’s developers. The virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame raised some $250,798 USD all the way back in June 2014 and, after some delays and Beta testing periods, is finally nearing release. This week the team behind the project has yet more GIFs of its stylish action experience to show, specifically focusing on some of the throwable weapons that feature in the title. Said GIFs can now be seen below.

The first of these GIFs features a kunai, while the second showcases a shuriken, both of which find their way into an enemy and take them down as players continue to dodge incoming attacks. The third and final GIF looks to be a tease for an unrevealed, larger item that promptly takes down one of the title’s orange enemies.

As you can tell from the GIFs, SUPERHOT is a videogame in which time moves only when the player does. When they stop walking, events slow to a crawl, giving you a chance to dodge around bullets as you search for a route out of harm’s way as you attempt to eliminate all enemies within the level. By using the Oculus Rift head-mounted display’s (HMD’s) positional tracking players can even physically lean out of the way of incoming attacks. The title is also on its way to the Xbox One, though it remains to be seen if a PlayStation 4 port with PlayStation VR support is on the table. The same goes for HTC Vive support on PC.

VRFocus will continue to follow SUPERHOT closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the title’s progress.
