Indie virtual reality (VR) developer StellarVR, which is currently running a Steam GreenLight campaign for its strategy defence title Korix, has now launched the title on its website.
Korix is a retro styled VR real-time strategy (RTS) defence game based deep in space. It’s a simple cross between RTS and tower defence games. The videogame puts players in charge of their own base where they must defend themselves from attack whilst also destroying the enemy. Build up base defences using a combination of turrets and walls, attack the enemy with soldiers, tanks, artillery and even nukes. All while managing your resources and protecting your workers.
The initial release available to download contains 8 increasingly complex levels, nukes and a skirmish mode. StellarVR aim to add more levels and features on a monthly basis. Currently Korix supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) but the developer is working on adding SteamVR support at a later date. And if Korix proves to be popular StellarVR also plan to add multiplayer (co-op and VS) in 2016.
The initial release can be downloaded from StellarVR’s website for £4.99 GBP/ $7.99 USD/ €6.99 EUR. There is also a demo version to download for free containing the first four levels.
