While virtual reality (VR) experiences are being used by company’s across the globe for advertising purposes, some are embracing the technology far more than others. Mercedes-Benz is one such company that has created a number of 360-degree films to promote and inform customers of its cars. VRFocus recently reported on a new app called Mercedes VR for Google Cardboard headsets, and now Mercedes-Benz USA has created an immersive video of Instagram star Loki the Wolf Dog and his owner Kelly Lund.

The Loki (360° Experience) follows Lund and Loki on their journey through the snowy mountains of Crested Butte, Colorado, while featuring the all-new Mercedes-Benz 2017 GLS sport-utility vehicle. The pair have a big following on the social media platform, with 960,000 followers watching their escapades into the great outdoors. Two-year old Loki is a hybrid of a Siberian husky, Malamute and Arctic Wolf, and Lund began photographing their travels around the US, before being approached by the car company to create the film.

The 360-degree video can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app. If you own a Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video through the YouTube app for a more immersive experience.

VRFocus will continue to follow the latest 360-degree experiences from Mercedes-Benz, reporting back with any new announcements.
