VRFocus has covered many virtual reality (VR) meetup groups since its inception. These small events are a great way of experiencing VR, talking to enthusiasts and meeting developers. The majority of the coverage has centred around the US, UK and some of Europe, with the American West Coast naturally home to some of the bigger meetup groups. But there are others around the world and a new one to launch this month is the Melbourne Virtual Reality Forum Meetup in Australia.

Organised by Leah Bunny this group will have a dedicated monthly event under the banner of – VR Forum Q&A and Experience. The official description reads: “An opportunity for the audience to ask questions or experience VR (Virtual Reality), 3D, 360 video for themselves.”

“We meet once a month on a Tuesday evening at Loop Project Space & Bar. The night includes a Q & A forum, virtual reality experience using Google Cardboard headsets on Loop’s large format screens in the front room and Oculus headsets in the back room on large format screens.”

The first event is due to take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, with Emily Harridge founder of Visual Playground, an international award winning VFX studio & Pause fest speaker attending.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of meetups from around the world as more take place.
