Earlier this week Oculus VR announced that everyone that picks up the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) from when it launches in the first three months of this year will receive a copy of upcoming platform-based title, Lucky’s Tale, absolutely free. The videogame, developed by Playful, is one of the first to be published by Oculus VR itself. Now a brand new trailer has arrived in recognition of the news, which can be seen below.

The briefest of trailers is on display here, providing around 40 seconds of new gameplay from the title, in which players control a fox named Lucky from a third-person perspective. All the same, it’s a great showcase of the title’s colourful art style and demonstrates how VR is being used to enhance the mechanics along with the immersion, as the player uses head-tracking control to aim a bomb that Lucky tosses among other aspects.

Lucky’s Tale isn’t the only freebie that Oculus Rift fans can expect in the next few months. Those that pre-order the device will also be getting a copy of CCP Games’ multiplayer space shooter, EVE: Valkyrie, for free too. It’s not yet clear exactly when those pre-orders will go live but, when they do, the price of the Oculus Rift will also be revealed alongside them.

VRFocus will continue to follow Lucky’s Tale closely, reporting back with the latest updates on its progress.
