Indie studio Lucid Sight has a lot going on the in virtual reality (VR) space at the moment. The developer has already released two titles for the Gear VR mobile-based head-mounted display (HMD) in PolyRunner VR and this month’s Gumi no Yume, but that’s far from all it has in the pipeline. This week the developer has announced a new VR videogame for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive PC-based devices. That title is Space Bit Attack, and it’s already passed a Steam Greenlight campaign to bring it to Valve’s digital store for full release.

The first trailer for the videogame can currently be seen below. Space Bit Attack transports you inside a virtual arcade cabinet to play what looks like a VR version of Space Invaders. Players take control of a ship and move back and forth as well as up and down, avoiding incoming fire from some familiar-looking alien invaders. They’ll also return fire on these creatures and take cover behind rocks. Enemies arrive in endless waves, and players will be able to unlock new abilities to help them in battle.

Lucid Sight will be releasing Space Bit Attack in April 2016. Of course, the Oculus Rift itself is now ‘out’, though only slowly arriving to those that have pre-ordered it, while the HTC Vive launches on 5th April. Check back with VRFocus for more on Space Bit Attack and all other VR titles.
