Loot Crate the monthly sign-up service which delivers geek culture merchandise including collectibles, apparel, tech gadgets and art, is running a ‘Versus’ theme for March. To coincide with this the company has released an unofficial 360-degree fan film called Predator vs. Colonial Marines.

In the short film a bunch of colonial marines from the Alien franchise storm a Wayland Yutani warehouse, on the hunt for a Predator which they need to capture alive. Naturally after they enter the marines start to be picked off one by one by their cloaked adversary. The last couple of marines left try to take on the Predator hand to hand but to no avail.

The entire video is shot from one position, right in the middle of the action so viewers can look everywhere trying to spot the Predator before it strikes again. The 360-degree film can be viewed on a normal desktop and controlled with a mouse or WASD keys. For a more immersive you’ll need a head-mounted display (HMD) like a Google Cardboard, Merge VR, Homido or any other smartphone holding HMD. Then through the YouTube app on your device you’ll be able to watch Predator vs. Colonial Marines in virtual reality (VR).

VRFocus will continue its coverage of the latest 360-degree films as they launch.
