The majority of our attention this week may be turned to the world of games and technology with the 2016 edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)- which the majority of VRFocus staff are at this week – but 2016 is also a year for sport. This weekend alone we had Formula 1 action in Canada and we’re now well underway with Euro 2016 in France. Another event we’re also closing in on rapidly is this year’s Olympics and Paralympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Team USA’s story is being charted (somewhat) by breakfast cereal company Kellogg’s who are creating a number of multimedia experiences in connection with the athletes. ‘Team Kellogg’s’ comprises gymnast Simone Biles, football/soccer player Julie Johnston, Butterfly swimmer Tom Shields and track athlete Ajee Wilson (800 meters) and Natalie Bieule (discus). Experienced american swimming talent Dara Torres is the team’s ‘captain’.

The Kellogg’s US YouTube channel is hosting a number of videos with the athlete’s discussing the topic of “What Gets You Started?” and Shield’s story ‘Dive Right In’ is filmed in 360 degrees. You can see the video below.

VRFocus will be back later in the week for another example of 360 degree video in action.
