With Google I/O over and done with for another year and with another new HMD in Daydream on the way along with some exciting developments with Project Tango that we’ll be discussing in the future we begin another week with a touch of magic. Not magic in the stage sense or even magic in a technological sense but the magic of nature and the world. We’re heading to North America and the forests of Alaska for some time-lapse footage courtesy of photographer William Briscoe.
Initially Briscoe was attempting to film a 360 degree sunset sequence, however upon recovering the footage was surprised to find not the reds, oranges and yellows of a sunset but thanks to a geomagnetic storm the purples, yellows and greens of the Northern Lights.
It’s a fantastic way to start the week and a great way to see the entire night sky as the Aurora Borealis takes place.
