With only a few days to go before Christmas, London based 3D imaging company IVR Nation has released a festive 360-degree video as an immersive virtual reality (VR) Christmas card.

The short one minute video circles round a snow filled room with a big Christmas tree in the middle. Around the edges are more trees with presents, snowmen and candy canes with Merry Christmas and Happy New Year messages.

The 360 degree VR video can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone with the YouTube app for a better 360 degree experience. If you own a Google Cardboard or similar head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video through the YouTube app for the full immersive experience.

VRFocus reported on IVR Nation back in July, when the company created a VR model of a house called Ty Hedfan, designed by architects Featherstone Young. Olivier Demangel Design Director director at the firm commented on architectural VR: “Virtual reality will become an essential tool for architects. This technology is going to be so precise, you’re going to be like a magician. You’ll be able to change the world around you like a god.”

VRFocus will continue to follow IVR Nations latest VR projects, reporting back on any further announcements.
