As hard as it is to believe, tomorrow marks VRFocus‘ second anniversary. Just two years ago the virtual reality (VR) industry was still finding its feet with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display’s (HMD’s) first development kit (DK1), and now it’s finally on the cusp of the release of the consumer edition, with promising contenders from HTC and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) also nearing. The industry has changed dramatically over the past two years, and VRFocus must change with it. With that in mind, it’s time for something new.
Introducing VRTV, a new fortnightly show in which we’ll be covering the latest VR news, speaking with AAA and indie developers alike, and offering some fantastic competitions. The full series will be kicking off later this month on 25th February, but for now there’s a sneak preview of what’s in store below with Episode 0. Take a quick peek and say hello to our new hosts.
Yes, new hosts! You may have seen our new presenter, Zeena Al-Obaidi, getting involved with the site over the past few weeks, and our on-location correspondent, Bella Franco, will be bringing you all the updates from events like GDC, E3 and Gamescom.
So make sure to be back here in just under two weeks’ time for our first full episode, and check out Episode 0 below to find out how you can get your hands on a somewhat legendary Google Cardboard!
