As close as you can get to rafting the Grand Canyon without getting sand in your underwear…and you’ll learn something too.

Shot in May of 2024 with the help of Grand Canyon Expeditions, this documentary is the only 8K VR360 full length documentary of the Grand Canyon that I know of.

The Insta360 X4 had just been released which opened the door for this project to be shot in 8K. Be sure and put your browser settings as high as they can go. For YouTube, it’s generally 4K. To view the full resolution file, check me out on Meta TV.

This documentary is the final piece of a bucket list puzzle. The first time I saw 360 video with VR goggles I knew I had seen the future. And with years of outdoor adventure video experience, my mind immediately turned to The Grand Canyon. It’s a bucket list trip for me my entire life.

I made this documentary using my mother as inspiration. She will never be able to physically raft down The Grand Canyon, but with this documentary, she’ll get as close as is possible in today’s technology.

This film is also dedicated to all of you who, for one of a thousand reasons, know you’ll never be able to make a trip like this. I had people like you in my mind the entire time I was going downriver.

The chapters that are included will show you epic whitewater, indigenous influences, scenic side hikes and even some history about The Powell Expedition of 1859. The first known circumnavigation of the Grand Canyon by any human.
